Part time Youth Minister

The Youth Minister of Lake Cooley Baptist Church
Expectations of part time Youth Minister at Lake Cooley Baptist Church
Objective: Plan and lead in activities that will compel young people to participate in the youth group at
Lake Cooley in order to teach them the spiritual truths of God’s Holy Word.
1. Prepare and teach a Wednesday night Bible study each week using a variety of methods. Personal creativity is encouraged.
2. Plan at least one outing per month such as going to a Christian concert, joining with another church’s youth group for a time of fun, fellowship and Bible study. Again, creativity is encouraged.
3. Encourage youth to participate in a Sunday worship service through a praise band or drama team or singing.
4. Should the pastor not be able to preach due to an unexpected illness or church emergency, the Youth Minister will be expected to preach in his absence. In addition, the pastor should give the opportunity for the Youth Minister to preach not less than 2 times per year.
5. Work with pastor and when necessary to plan special church wide events.
6. Support the overall workings of the church by being present for worship services and special church events.
7. Teach youth Sunday school class as requested by the church nominating committee.
8. Plan and coordinate fund raisers as needed.
9. Select adults to assist in the youth department, as they will be needed for special events.
10. Plan summer activities which shall include at least one mission project or trip that includes discipling of students and Bible study.
11. Must have a growing relationship with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!
